Biography
Since 1987 sole shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Hubert Burda Media Holding GmbH & Co. KG. Acquired publishing responsibility for the Aenne Burda publishing house, the world's largest fashion publishing house, in 1994. The international media group Hubert Burda Media publishes over 180 magazine titles, including over 40 in Germany. Under the strategic leadership of Hubert Burda, Hubert Burda Media entered the market of interactive electronic media at a very early stage. Today, the media group is one of the largest suppliers of German language content on the Internet. Hubert Burda is President of the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ), and cofounder of the European Publishers Council (EPC) and Chairman of the Internet Council of the Bavarian Minister-President. He created the "Hubert Burda Center for Innovative Communications" at the Ben-Gurion University at Beer Sheva in Israel. The "Burda Academy for the Third Millennium", founded by Dr. Burda, promotes the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and ideas on futuristic subjects. The publisher awards the "Hermann-Lenz-Prize" for German Literature. Studied History of Art, Archaeology and Sociology.
