learndirect The portal learndirect.co.uk offers courses on various aspects of continuing education, such as information technology or multi-media topics. Responsible for the portal is the University for Industry, or Ufi. It functions as a public-private partnership in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and puts into practice the government's vision of "life-long learning" on the Internet for individuals and companies. 80 per cent of the courses are offered online, with the remaining 20 per cent being taught in the 1,000 regional learndirect centres. At the learndirect website, people with disabilities can find out which types of learning centres are suitable for them and whom to contact. The site also lists job vacancies, job descriptions, further learning opportunities, and useful links.
